Why Your Workspace Matters?

Why Your Workspace Matters?

Most of us spend just as much time at the office as we do at home. To get the most out of your work day, you should invest some money and effort into decorating your office, cubical, or workspace. My name is Rayce Rollins and I teach Digital Analytics and Advertising courses at Temple University. Here is a picture of me in my new office, just before I started decorating the place.

Your Productivity Hinges on your Environment

So much of your productivity hinges on your environment –both the people that you have around you and your physical workspace can affect your attitude (and your aptitude).  Your surroundings can either build you up or they can tear you down. That’s why you should always be cognizant of who (and what) you let into your circle because it affects your perspective -for better or for worst.  To increase your productivity at work, you need to cultivate a workspace that inspires you to be creative. Brighten things up a little. Hang up your accomplishments and trophies so that you’re constantly reminded that you are a winner!

To increase your productivity at work, you need to cultivate a workspace that inspires you to be creative. Brighten things up a little. Hang up your accomplishments and trophies so that you’re constantly reminded that you are a winner! Put up a picture or your loved ones to remind yourself why putting in a full and fruitful day’s work is important. All of this stuff matters.

By turning your workspace into an oasis of inspiration–filled with things near and dear to your heart–you’ll not only feel better, but you’ll also work better and focus longer.

In my office, I hung up my degrees, a chess board, and a few things that I purchased during a recent trip to Medellin, Colombia. I also have pictures of my wife and siblings. My wife, in particular, really inspires me to work hard, especially when I have to dig deep and go the extra mile.

What/who motivates you? By surrounding yourself with motivational people and fixtures, you’ll naturally get inspired and encouraged throughout the work day –and when you’re spirits are high, your productivity tends to be, too.
